Post 5

We all went on a patrol with other companies today and while we were going up the hill to kill the VC's Brew and I were injured. Brew died right next to me in the helicopter the sound of them zipping the body bag up will always haunt me. I wasn't injured as badly I made it to the hospital and found out I had been shot in the wrist and had some shrapnel in my leg and side it will take me some time to recover but I'm scared about going back out there I really don't want to die.

Post 4

Today Lt. Carroll died after we went on a patrol everyone is pretty upset especially Lobel, he blames himself for it. I can't stop thinking about dying and how I don't want to die. I had to write another letter home for Lt. Carroll to his wife telling her how he is now dead. It's getting more difficult to sleep at night and the bugs are still really annoying.

Post 3

Today Walowick and Johnson got in a fight and chipped Lt. Carroll's tooth. I've been thinking alot about home and Kenny. Later on that night Lobel and I had to watch the camp. We had a long talk about how this was just a movie, Lobel told me how I shouldn't play the part of the guy who dies. I am worried that I may not see home again.

Post 2

On one of our first few patrols Jenkins got killed and I had to write a letter home to his parents saying what had happened. I can't stop thinking about how Jenkins died and how I'm glad that it wasn't me. Lt. Carroll called him a Fallen Angel and it made me think about why I was here in the first place.

Post 1

We have finally landed in Nam and it's really hot we had to stand waiting to get picked up for almost three hours. When we finally got to camp I couldn't wait to get settled in and sleep. The bugs here are terrible they won't leave us alone and the bug spray doesn't help at all.
